Our sector has gained its share of national and international markets, investments have increased for jobs, the work force is well qualified, the product is differentiated in line with market levels, it does not have the problem that the presence of industry and fabric manufacturing has in other Communities, and most importantly, it has the competitive advantage that it uses its own designs». The Galician textile-fashion industry is mainly concentrated in the province of A Coruña, then Pontevedra and Ourense. This sector´s boom in Galicia has been considerable and much faster than that of the other industry, and this means that the sector can face the challenge of the year 2000. The «Asociación Textil de Galicia» promotes and coordinates marketing activities for companies specialized in fashion and knitwear for men, women and children, for national and international market.
